I don't know if it's my imagination or not but the boat has definitely picked up some boat speed and it feels like it glides through the water now! Mike and Janine, Pearson 424

We launched a factory new Bavaria S36HT, Bright Idea, in March 2019. The boat we choose has been an excellent decision for us. Our next best decision was to choose the Flow Silikon antifoul wrap to protect our investment.

Although it is initially a more expensive product, than traditional antifouling paint, it gives a level of protection that is unparalleled and so means we have saved on hull maintenance as we only need to lift the boat out of the water once a year.

This is particularly impressive as she is berthed in the Opua Marina, which is known for high levels of hull growth.  In practice this means that cleaning the hull is very quick and easy, with 99.9% of the Silikon cover only required a washdown with a microfibre cloth. Where barnacle and the occasional oyster appear there is only a need for a plastic scraper to remove them.

If it wasn’t for the engine and sternleg maintenance we would only require a lift and hold.

As Silikon can’t be applied to the sternleg, trim tabs and bow thruster prop there is significant water blasting required to remove growth on these components, even though we apply the best products available for them.

Although the Silikon has been on for almost 5 years we see not sign of any deterioration in its effectiveness.

I have recommended the product to several friends who have used it and all are equally as convinced of its benefits. Kevin Drinkwater Bright Idea
